Hey Friends,
There was a lot happening at TC this past month, and we have much to be thankful for.  Elizabeth and Justin have made a smooth transition into their new roles leading Music and Youth.   All went well with the Spring Festival and outreach hosted by the mission team from Auburn Grace Community Church (AGCC).  On top of that, we had a festive Easter Sunday as we celebrated the hope and life we have because of the Resurrection of Jesus.

AUBURN GRACE COMMUNITY CHURCH- THANK YOU!
We hope that some of you had the opportunity to get to know our friends from Auburn Grace Community Church during the week that they served here in Tamarindo.  During their time here the team form AGCC served our church and community by: Hosting a Spring Festival outreach at TC to help us reach  unchurched kids and families in the community.Hosting an Arts and Sports camp for 3 days for outreach.Serving at a local food bank.Serving the community of El Venado down near Playa Junquial.Purchasing and installing fencing around the Tamarindo Church property.Auburn Grace has been supporting Tamarindo Church from our beginnings back in 2013, and we are super grateful for the many ways they have come behind our efforts to minister here in Tamarindo.  Every month, I get a letter from their prayer team asking for prayer requests so they can pray for our church family.  They have also supported Tamarindo Church by sending teams and financial support. Thanks again to Bridget, Steve, Tim, Lisa and the rest of the team for blessing our church and community.  We hope to have you with us again next year… thank you AGCC team for serving our church and community! And thanks to those in the TC family who jumped in to help!

EASTER SUNDAY @ TAMARINDO CHURCHEaster Sunday was a great day of worship and fellowship at Tamarindo Church.  The service was followed by a picnic at church… which included some tasty BBQ and coleslaw and a bounce house and easter egg hunt for the kids.  Thank you to all who pitched in by bringing side dishes and desserts that were enjoyed by all.  And a special thanks goes out to Mary Novgrod for organizing this years Easter Picnic! Thank you Mary!

MARK YOUR CALENDARAs we look to the month ahead be sure to read below about upcoming events and mark your calendars.  These events include:
May 19th- Pizza Fellowship-  Join us after church on Sunday, May 19th @ 12:00 noon for our monthly Pizza Fellowship at Monkey Bar-Best Western.  Bring a swimsuit if you’re up for cooling off in the pool.  We hope to see you there!

NOTE FROM THE PASTOR
In closing, I’d like to encourage you to read the new addition to our newsletter called “Faith In Action: Servant’s Spotlight” that we began including in our TC newsletter as of last month.  Each month, this article will highlight someone in our congregation who serves at Tamarindo Church.  We hope this will help you to get to better know some of the faces you see at church, and we hope this will help everyone to become more aware of the opportunities that there are for serving at Tamarindo Church.  This month, we will be highlighting Eric Luethold… our faithful “sound guy”.

Thank you again for the many ways you give to the life and ministry of Tamarindo Church. We hope to see you next Sunday!

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served,
but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

~ Mark 10:45

Peace,
Pastor Lyle

Faith In Action: Servant’s Spotlight
When you come to TC on a Sunday morning, you will see the musicians and singers all set up, the instruments in place on the stage, and the worship music beginning to ring out.  The stage is set, literally, and the entire service starts to take place.  This doesn’t just happen automatically each week, it takes a focused effort and a keen ear to get everything just right.

Let me introduce you to Eric, our dedicated and talented “sound man”.  Yes,  he’s the guy you see every Sunday walking around with the iPad!  Eric and his wife Catherine, and their four beautiful children moved to the Tamarindo area three years ago from Iqaluit, Canada, in the cold and frozen Arctic!

When they moved here, something drew them to church and Eric first started serving by simply stacking chairs after service and helping to clean up.  Another church member shared with him that there were other ways to serve, and that’s when Eric started to help with A/V and music system set up.  He once did sound for a band, but said “this is much more challenging, due to the acoustics in the building, and I’ve really had to work on it.”

Eric shared that “ it’s great to see how committed the TC community is, and how many people serve behind the scenes in so many ways.  I had no idea how many people are involved at TC until I started serving too.”  “By being involved at TC and meeting others, I have a deeper network of friends and believers, and I realize I’m not on this walk alone,” said Eric.

In one word, Eric sums up his experience serving at TC as “fun,” and tells everyone, “come on out to help in any way you can, get involved, it will make for a better church experience for you and for others.”

So the next time you come for Sunday service, and enjoy worshipping with TC, you’ll probably see Eric roaming around with his iPad and perfecting the sound!

If you feel the Lord calling you to serve in music, A/V support, or any other ministry at TC, please contact Jean Mixon, jeanmixon@outlook.com, or by WhatsApp 506-8938-0845.

Hey all… just a reminder that we are on for pizza and hanging out after church on Sunday the 19th after church.  12:00 noon at the Monkey Bar/Best Western Vista Villas. Bring a bathing suit if you want to swim. Hope to see you all there!
