Hey friends,
As you may have guessed, our big event this past month at Tamarindo Church was was our Easter Sunday Celebration. It was a packed house on Easter, and it was great to be able to celebrate Christ’s 
gathering that was supposed to be at the Best Western Monkey Bar… but due to last minute changes… it ended up being at our house… which in the end made for an even better setting for our time together. We grilled out pot-luck style, and we had a great time hanging out poolside, talking, swimming, and of course enjoying some great food. Thanks to all who pitched in bringing side dishes and desserts, and in helping with set up and clean up. It was a great day together.
TC BOARD
this past week. Since some of the members do not live here in Costa Rica, we actually had the meeting via Skype Conference call. It was great to have all the new board members together to meet one another. During our time together we gave an update on our church finances, and we also shared a bit about where our church as been over the past few months, where we are, and where we are going. As I mention the board, I’m realizing that many of you don’t know who our board members are… so I have posted a page on our website so that you can get to know them. Thank you to all of the new board members for being willing to serve our church in this role. together well. Considering it has only been a little more than four years since we launched, it is amazing to see how far God has brought us. We have purchased a property, and now we are designing a building. We are grateful to God, and grateful to all of you who have helped us come this far. We have almost completed the renderings. Once we are done we will pass the renderings on to the engineer who will make blue prints. And once the builder has the blueprints… will be able to come to us with cost. In the mean time we have made some of the preliminary renderings available on our website so you can get a sneak preview. Please pray wisdom for us as we fine tune the design this week and as we plan financially for the construction.. We will keep you posted as things continue to progress. Thank you to Joel and Wolfie for stepping up and joining the worship band. So grateful to have more musicians giving our band and our music more depth. And congratulations to Tommy as he was baptized this past month while we were surfing down in Avellanas a couple of weeks ago. Normally we do this with the church on a Sunday, but Tommy was excited to be baptized that day, and I wasn’t going to say no. Congrats Tommy! In addition, a church that we have been part of seeing “re-launched” down in Panama City is receiving their new pastor this month. We are excited to see how God will use Nate and Jendi Korpis as they bring new life and vision at LifeBridge International Church in Panama. You can read more about our involvement with that effort below.

Hello Ladies, I would love to welcome you to our 2017 Women’s Retreat. I am so looking forward to this getaway up in the mountains in this wonderfully rustic Costa Rican lodge nestled on the side of Volcano Tenorio. As most of you know, our church is affiliated with the International Baptism Convention (IBC) and I serve as a member of the IBC Central-South America LEAD TEAM. As part of this team, this means that our church is committed to reaching English speaking expat communities throughout Central and South America through church planting. One church in particular that we have been helping this past year is an IBC church in Panama City, Lifebridge International Church . After the planter/pastor had to leave the church prematurely a couple of years ago they have been struggling, and as a team we have come alongside them in their time of transition. The ways we have been able to help have included 1. Helping them find an interim-pastor to lead their church as they search for a new pastor. 2. Identifying prospective new pastors and vetting potential pastoral candidates. Well… we are excited to celebrate with LifeBridge church in Panama City as they will be welcoming their new planter/pastor next month! We are thankful for what God has done in keeping this church afloat over the past two years, and for his calling of Nate and Jendi Korpis to lead their church. As they plant, we will continue to help them in providing fellowship and encouragement… but also, I will continue coaching Nate in his first year as he re-plants the church there. Please keep LifeBridge and Nate and Jendi in prayer as they make this transition to life and ministry in Panama City. And be sure to swing by and visit with them if you’re ever passing through.
Youth nights at Tamarindo Church create an environment where teenagers feel welcomed and safe to be themselves.
This month at Tamarindo Church Youth Group has been full of good times, belly laughs, and great conversations. We listen to music way too loud, eat (probably too much) candy, and play some wild games and mixers.
YES… the rumor is true!!! There is a Dodgeball Tournament coming up in June… so be sure to tell your friends and let’s get some dodgeball on!! Read below and learn how to sign up your team. All youth ages 12-18 are welcome to participate.
Aside from the dodgeball and crazy games on Fridays… we play each week, we’ve really been digging into the Bible to figure out who Jesus is and what He is all about.
TC Youth group meets every Friday night, 7:00-8:30 pm at Tamarindo Church! All 6th – 12th grade students are invited!

Thanks be to God, the sale went through and Tamarindo Church now owns a property for the construction of a church building which will help us to more effectively minister to our church and community. At this point we are in the concept and design phase. Please pray that God would guide us in this process, and that our needs would be met for building the first phase of the church which includes the sanctuary, classroooms, youth room, and fellowship room..
