Hello Friends,
September has been an exciting month here at Tamarindo Church. With the school year beginning, we kicked off our Youth Group and Kidz Club programs, and had a great turn out with many new kids involved. In addition, we hosted a Comedy Night Fundraiser at
 the church last month, and it was a big success. We had great food, great people, and great laughs together… and at the same time we were able to make a difference in the lives of people in need. All income for the event was given to support the Las Playas Food Bank run by Valerie Eschuck, and toward the Mercies of God Men’s rehabilitation center near Santa Cruz. Our goal was to raise $800, and we exceeded that amount by raising over $1,100. Thank you to all who participated in the event to make it a success!!! Marriage Getaway Weekend
Tamarindo Church is hosting a Marriage Getaway weekend on November 13th & 14th. Being that
 we don’t get many opportunities for enhancing our marriages down here in Costa Rica… we think this a great chance for couples to take advantage of. One thing we can promise…. this event is going to be top notch! Don’t miss it! There is limited space… so be sure to sign up soon.  In addition, we have our dates set for our upcoming annual Mission Trip to Nicaragua which will be January 25th-29th. There is limited space on this trip… and these trips fill up fast. We are at the time of year again where Tamarindo Church asks folks to partner with our ministry here in tamarindo by pledging financial support (or renewing support) for the upcoming year.
 Our church is still in the process of being planted, and we still depend much on support that comes from past visitors and part time residents who don’t live here full time. This seems to be the nature of living in a transient/resort community. In the coming weeks, you will receive an email with information about our fundraising efforts for 2016, but for the time being, we ask that you prayerfully consider committing to financial support of Tamarindo Church in 2016. We’ll be in touch soon.Again, we thank all of you for the ways you participate in the life and ministry of Tamarindo Church. Thank you for giving of your time, talents, resources… and thank you for your prayers. We couldn’t do this without you.

Sunday, October 25th- Pizza n’ Hanging Out
 Join us on Sunday the 25th after Church for hanging out, pizza, and a swim in the pool at Monkey Bar/Tamarindo Best Western Vista Villas. This is a great opportunity to connect with others in the church in a way that we just don’t get to do on Sunday’s after church service. Don’t forget your bathing suit and towel. Sunday, October 25th- Beach Baptism
 Baptism is an act of obedience to God’s word that believers through the ages have followed. Baptism symbolizes a person’s new life as a follower of Jesus Christ.At Tamarindo Church, we do not perform infant baptisms, but “believer’s baptism”, as we see this as the pattern for baptism found in the scriptures. In the early church that we see attested to in the book of Acts, when individuals came to believe, their belief was always followed by the act of being baptized. This is what is meant by “believer’s baptism”.
If you are interested in being baptized, please contact pastor Lyle to let him know of your interest. lyletamarindo@gmail.com Also please plan to be at church on Sunday, October 18th as Pastor Lyle will be sharing a message on the significance of baptism. Following the service on the 18th, there will be a brief meeting with those interested in being baptized… and for those who have questions. The beach baptism event will be held on October 25th after our church service. The baptism will be followed by gathering at Best Western, Monkey bar for fellowship and pizza.

TC Youth -“The Road”
Youth Group for students Grades 6-12
Being a young adult is not an easy road. Life is hard, choices are many and challenging, and we want to create a space where teens and pre-teens can come together to encourage and support each other and where we can help point them to the true love of Jesus Christ. Romans 8:38-39
We meet bi-weekly during the traditional north American school year to have fun, play games, eat food and grow together in our knowledge of Christ and his love for us.
Our meetings in September will be as follows
We have dinner together every Sunday that we meet – if you want to volunteer to make something one night, please let us know!

Kidz Club Tamarindo–
NOTE: No Kidz Club October 4th & 11th
 Kidz Club meets on Friday nights from 5:45-7:30, Kidz Club rocks it for kids ages 5-12. Come join in the fun, games, activities, snacks, music and learn about how much God loves them. Great date night opportunity for the parents too!!! All kids are welcome:)

Nicaragua Mission Trip- January 25-29
 We are still working out the details, but we do have the dates set for our next mission Trip to Nicaragua. We will be headed to Nicaragua on Januray 25th-January 29th.
The cost will be $400/person which will include all transportation, food, lodging & boarder crossing fees. If you are interested in joining us or would like to know more about the trip, please contact Pastor Lyle at lyletamarindo@gmail.com. Space is limited, so sign up soon!!
