So here we are in the heart of rainy season in Costa Rica… and its been a wet one! With all of those hurricanes out in the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico… they end up affecting weather over here bringing us more rain. But we aren’t complaining because it assures that we won’t have water shortages during the coming dry season, and we are thankful for that. In addition… rainy season is always a great time of year because, unlike the dry season that bustles with tourism and busyness… the rainy season offers us time to slow down to just be… and connect church family and friends. But just because it’s rainy doesn’t mean nothing’s going on….TC MEN’S RETREAT
CHURCH LIFE
Below you’ll find more info on a few events coming up this month. If you have kids, be sure to take note of the Movie night this Friday, and the Harvest Festival on Friday, October 20th. Also… in case you didn’t know, the youth group is heading up to a youth camp in the mountains on the 13th, so be sure to check that out if you have teens. Lastly… just a heads up that the ladies are planning a getaway to the Carolina Lodge on November 3-5. You can find info on these events below.
In closing… I just want to acknowledge that there is a lot of stuff going on in the world that can make it seem like things are out of control…. which can cause an increased level of sorrow and anxiety. The hurricanes that have passed, talk of nuclear threats with North Korea, the earthquake in Mexico, the shooting in Las Vegas. One of my favorite psalms to reflect on in times like this is Psalm 46.Psalm
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5 God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
7 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress…..
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
Even with all of the chaos around us… natural disasters, warring nations.. we have a God who is ultimately all powerful and sovereign over it all. It is in the midst of times like these that God invites us… to “Be Still”. And the only way we can find stillness and peace in circumstances such as these, is to know that He is God. And He is still in control. He is more powerful than the unnerving events that can cause us anxiety and fear. And He invites us to rest in Him. “Be still and know that He is God”.
Thanks again to all of you for the many ways that you parter in the life and ministry of Tamarindo Church. Your prayers, service, and the giving of your time and talents in the church are SUPER appreciated. Blessings to you and your loved ones.

Hey parents!
We have kicked off this school year in wild ways here at Tamarindo Church Youth Group! September was full of catching up on summer time stories, lots of Fireball (dodgeball), and diving back into scripture. This September we have been focusing on our prayer life, and how to continue getting to know the Lord and building our relationship with him through prayer. It is so fun to be back with everyone and hear all about their summer adventures, and see them continue to build community and solid friendships with each other.
This month, October 13th, I will be co-leading a group youth from Tamarindo Church and Beach Community Church to camp at La Cumbre for a long weekend trip! Please Keep us in your prayers for safe travels, and for God to move in the hearts of our kids!
Please read below for more info on TC Youth Group!
Youth nights at Tamarindo Church create an environment where teenagers feel welcomed and safe to be themselves.
Each week, we start with some crazy games together… followed by a time of digging into the Bible together to figure out who Jesus is and what He is all about. All 6th – 12th grade students are invited!
TC Youth group normally meets every Friday night, 7:00-8:30 pm at Tamarindo Church during the school year. But be sure to “LIKE” our Facebook page for Tamarindo Church Youth to stay updated on any changes in schedule or special events. Click here to go to our page. TC Youth

Tamarindo Church Prayer Requests
VISION
that God would guide us in our vision and strategy for reaching and serving our community.MINISTRY TEAM
Thanks to God for our staff and volounteers who serve in many roles in the church. Please pray that God would continue build a sense of unity and family among our core church members… especially our Board, our Pastor Advisory Group, and our Volunteer Team.FINANCES
Please pray to our Father that he would meet our needs in the coming year through pledges and regular supporters!
OUTREACH
That God would create a spiritual hunger in our community, and that we would see many come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. Please pray that our church members would be salt and light in the community to those who are not saved.
CHURCH LIFE
- Please pray for the two outreaches we are doing this month. The Family Movie Night and the Harvest Fest… that God would help Tamarindo Church connect with unchurched families in our community through these events. ANd that this event would be just a first step in moving toward faith in Christ.
- Please pray for the Youth Retreat- for protection over the kids as they travel, and for Go to draw these teens to a deeper devotion to Him, and they would come to a deeper knowledge of His love for them.
- Please Pray for the Women Retreat coming up in early November. That God would draw women to Himself… to meet with Him on this retreat. And that women would be refreshed and strengthened in faith.
Thanks be to God, the sale went through and Tamarindo Church now owns a property for the construction of a church building which will help us to more effectively minister to our church and community. At this point we are in the concept and design phase. Please pray that God would guide us in this process, and that our needs would be met for building the first phase of the church which includes the sanctuary, classroooms, youth room, and fellowship room. Please pray that God would provide the $240,000 we need to raise to complete the initial phase of the project.LYLE & STACEY
– For spiritual wisdom and direction as we lead the church.
– For Stacey’s job in real-estate… that she would find balance between family, ministry and work… and not feel over-stressed or anxious. And that she would make enough to cover our children’s school tuition.OUR FAMILY
For meaningful times together and healthy balance between family and ministry. For our children Olivia and Wolfie… that we would raise them to know, love and serve our Lord.
SPIRITUAL PROTECTION
Prayer of spiritual protection over our family and our church Ministry Teams…. guarding us from spiritual attack and oppression, and anything that causes dis-unity and divisiveness in the body of Christ at Tamarindo Church.
