TC Updates/Announcements- April 2018

Hey All,
Happy Easter friends!   If you weren’t with us yesterday at church… we hope you had a great time celebrating Christ’s

resurrection wherever you were.  It was a packed house at  Tamarindo Church yesterday and the mood was definitely one of joy, thanks and celebration.  The resurrection of Christ gives us the greatest Hope and Comfort we can know in the face of death… and we had a lot of fun celebrating hope we have because of Him.  After service, our church headed over to the home of Jim and Christa Niven’s where we had some tasty smoked pork and chicken bbq (thanks to Mike from Jalepenos!).  And the kids had a blast with the Easter egg hunt, bounce house, and swimming pool… while parents got to hang out and fellowship together.  Thank you to all volunteers who helped make the event a success… and special thanks to the Niven’s family for welcoming us into your home!

Looking back of March, below you’ll find some of the highlights from this past month at Tamarindo Church…
Tamarindo was visited once again by our friends from Houston’s First Baptist Church.  While here the team served with Las Playas Food Bank and the Banco de Comida in Huacas, and hosted VBS at the elementary school in Rio Seco. In addition they were gracious enough to host a fun night for our Kids and Youth at Tamarindo Church during our TC Volunteer Appreciation dinner.  Thank you HFBC for continuing to be a blessing our church and community!

Yes… we had a volunteer appreciation dinner this past month. It was a fun adventure for all taking panga boats across the estuary from Tamarindo over to Bula Bula’s in Playa Negra. While there, we shared an Italian buffet dinner for over 40 volunteers at TC who serve in many different ways.  Our volunteers give of their time and talent on so many ways.. including: Sunday Service, Music Team, Children’s Church, Youth, Mission Trips, Bookkeeping, Women’s Ministry, Church Maintenance, Admin, the Building plans, etc.  During our time together, each of our ministry team leaders recognized and thanked their team of volunteers for the many ways that they faithfully serve. We are soooo grateful for our volunteers.  You guys are awesome.  Thank you for being the Church!

As we move into April, we’d like to highlight some of our upcoming events that you may want to know about.  These  events are listed below.  For more information, just scroll further down in the newsletter:
April 16th– Parenting Teens Course starts
April 22nd– Beach Baptism & Baby Dedication
April 27-29– Women’s Retreat Opportunity (hosted by BCC and Hope Fellowship)
We’re getting closer guys!!  All permits applications have been submitted and we are now waiting for them to come back…. hopefully approved.  Please pray with us that all goes well, and that the municipality grants permits with no complications.  If we get the permits back in “reasonable” time, we should be breaking ground as early as later this month.  Pretty exciting!

Other good news is that… we received our first quote from one of the builders bidding on the project, and praise God, it looks as if our estimated costs for construction are right on target.
And lastly… with regard to fundraising for the project, we are now only $60,000 short of our goal for entire cost of construction! Please join us in prayer… that all of the permitting goes through smoothly, and that God will provide the rest of the funds needed for completion of construction.  For those interested in learning more about or giving toward this project, please CLICK HERE.

Thank you all again for the many ways you support the life and ministry of Tamarindo Church.  Your prayers and generosity are greatly appreciated.  We hope to see you at church next Sunday!  Happy Easter!\“Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God!
He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Have you been thinking about being baptized?  Baptism is a significant step of obedience in the Christian faith that followers of Christ have been doing for the past 2000 years, and we’re inviting you to take that step with us at Tamarindo Church.  If you or your children are interested in being baptized, or if are you  just curious and have questions about baptism is about, please contact pastor Lyle at

Tamarindo Church Prayer Requests

Please continue to pray for……
that God would guide us in our vision and strategy for reaching and serving our community.

Thanks to God for our staff and volounteers who serve in many roles in the church. Please pray that God would continue to build a sense of unity and family among our core church members… especially our Board, our Ministry Leadership Team, and our Volunteer Team.  Please pray that God would bless our ministry team with gifts of the Spirit to serve and lead well.

Please pray to our Father that he would meet our needs in the coming year through pledges and regular supporters.

That God would create a spiritual hunger in our community, and that we would see many come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ.  Please pray that our church members would be salt and light in the community to those who are not saved.

Please pray that God would move in the hearts of those in our church who have not been baptized… to respond to the invitation to baptism.  Please pray also for our parents of teens… that we would learn to love and guide our kids well as they grow into adults.
Thanks and praise be to God in providing the initial finances needed to start construction of the church. At this time we are only $60,000 away from meeting our financial needs for construction of the church.

For spiritual wisdom and direction as we lead the church.
For Stacey’s job in real estate… that she would find good balance between family, ministry and work… and not feel over-stressed or anxious.  And that she would earn enough to pay for our children’s school tuition.
For meaningful times together and healthy balance between family and ministry.  For our children Olivia and Wolfie… that they would  continue to grow to know, love and serve our Lord.  For spiritual protection over our family.
Prayer of spiritual protection over our family and our church Ministry Teams…. guarding us from spiritual attack and oppression, and anything that causes dis-unity and divisiveness in the body of Christ at Tamarindo Church.
